Our client's damascened tazza with inlaid gold and silver, circa 1880, measures 6 1/2 inches tall and 6 inches across. Attributed to the Spanish metalsmith, Placido Zuloaga (1834-1910) with the artist's signature, "PZ", apparently rubbed off the column.

Maria Martin Zuloaga y Zuloaga was known for his perfection of the damascene technique and was widely exhibited across the globe. He is known to completed numerous commissions from the English collector, Alfred Morrison, and some of these artworks are now in the private collection of Nasser D. Khalili.
