Antique, early 19th century Chinese Qing Dynasty Canton enameled copper Famille rose box and cover. The top and two sides are finely hand-painted with colorful enamel against a white ground, depicting ladies and attendants at leisure on the garden terrace in rectangular panels. All surrounded by roses with leafy branches on a cobalt blue ground.
The other two sides have the "Shou" emblem painted in brown enamel with gold borders.


CONDITION: It shows age and use. It has an old patina. The copper rim is slightly bent, and some chips, as common in old over 200 years old enamel. Free of any repairs or restorations.
