Antique Chinese bronze incense burner censer in the form of the Buddhist Guardian Lion - Foo Dog, Qing Dynasty (1644 -1912 AD).

The lion is seated with the left paw raised on a brocade ball, and its scrolling tail flicks upwards.

Well cast in bronze and hand finished with fine details, the body is applied with swirling locks of hair and smaller curls.
