Antique Chinese, early 20th century, Republic period, beautifully hand - embroidered lady's handbag made of silk, mounted with a solid brass frame, finely engraved with cranes, trees, and other ornaments. The lock is carved with the figure of a young man with a braid, dressed in traditional Chinese costume.
All heavily gold-gilded, blackened, and highlighted with silver.
The interior is lined with satin silk and affixed with two pockets.
The bag comes with a delicate but strong gilt chain.
CONDITION: Showing age and usage. In good condition considering its age to be approximately 100 years.
