An exceptional and large antique Chinese champlevé enamel and gilt bronze incense burner, dating to the late Qing Dynasty, circa 1875–1910.

This ceremonial vessel is supported on a majestic caparisoned elephant, symbolizing strength and wisdom in Chinese culture. The saddlecloth and base are richly adorned with floral champlevé enamel on a turquoise ground, framed by scrolling lotus and geometric patterns. The upper bowl features a hexagonal diaper texture and is bordered with a vibrant lotus scroll band.

Mounted on a tiered, gilt bronze pedestal with decorative enamel medallions, this censer represents the finest craftsmanship of the export era and was likely produced for elite ceremonial or decorative use.
