Antique Child's Philipsborn's Button-Up Black Leather Boots

Unavailable

Antique child's black leather button-up boots made by Philipsborn's of Chicago, IL. These boots measure about 8" long from the heel to the toe. The toes of the shoes are reinforced and have metal copper toe tips. Each booth has 6 leather covered buttons, some of which have some slight scuffing on them. The interior of each shoe is stamped 11-1/2 and 22023. Unlike the larger and much more famous Chicago mail order company Sears and Roebuck, Philipsborn’s sold only clothing, accessories, and fabrics. I haven’t been able to uncover much about the company, but it appears to have published its first catalog in 1892. There is very little wear to these shoes. Great condition!
