Antique Austro Hungarian Calling card case / GRAND TOUR accessory / rhinestone Jewels / vintage box / ornate etchings

Unavailable

This was originally owned by a woman in NY who found them in her mothers fur muff years after she had passed away. Her mom was quite the socialite and she originally came from England where it was proper etiquette to leave a card prior to a visit to one's friend or acquaintance. Cards were typically carried in decorative cases designed for that purpose and these were often decorated with enamel and jewels. We were honored to have been able to keep this and to agree to her wish to find a home where they would continue to love them as much as she did. Unable to keep these precious treasures due to an illness , we are going to keep that commitment and hope that the person who buys these will do her memory justice. The case has rich patina and beautiful raised relief with fancy clasps and beautiful shapes. . The case measures 3" x 2 1/2" and is all original. no dings or dents and they have age discoloration as shown in the photos. She had 4 different ones...One is sold and two others have not been listed yet.
