Antique late 19th century Spanish Toledo, fine, gold damascened letter opener in the form of the stiletto dagger.

The handle of the letter opener is finely hand-chiseled in low relief with a "Nasrid" arabesque pattern.

 

Toledo Damascus metal artwork was created during the Victorian era in the 19th century in Toledo, Spain. The craftsmen of Toledo meticulously designed each object and then handcrafted it, finely hand-chiseled it in steel, and then the surface was gold damascened using 24kt gold.

 

MEASUREMENTS:

Overall length with the scabbard: 22.3 cm (8.78 inches).

 

CONDITION: Shows age and use. The steel blade is slightly pitted.
