Antique 18th-early 19th century Islamic Mughal, Northern Indian, Indo-Persian, Indian dagger 'Tiger Tooth' Jambiya Khanjar. It and has a typical design with a sturdy curved double-edged blade that is hand-forged of high-quality crucible Damascus steel, with slightly visible "wootz."Pattern. It has hand carved double fullers, with a prominent medial ridge ending in a diamond section tip for extra penetrative power. Both faces of the ricasso are decorated with hand-chiseled low-relief foliage ornamentation on the punched ground.

A hilt has a characteristic form, consisting of two bone grip scales that rise to a lobed pommel. The pommel has an iron lotus bud terminal to hold the tassel, and it is secured to the blade's tang by three rivets.

The short crossguard has a faceted steel ferule with integral bolsters that extends over the upper part of the forte to reinforce the blade with the hilt.

The dagger comes with a wooden scabbard covered in hand-stitched crimson velvet adorned with metallic laces.

CONDITION: The dagger is in very good condition despite being over 200 years old. It shows signs of age and use, with minor combat nicks on the edges of the blade and hilt, with the dark patina slightly chipped.

The tip of the wooden scabbard is chipped; there is a split on the outer edge of the scabbard and the inner edge of the scabbard's throat. Additionally, the velvet fabric shows some wear and discoloration, and the metallic lace is also worn due to the dagger's age.

Overall length without scabbard: 29.5 cm (11.61 inches).
