Antique 18th-19th century mounted in low - grade silver Tibetan women belt pouch -Purse (Baghu). This type of pouch has been worn by a Tibetan woman on her belt as a sign of wealth and prestige.
The body of the Baghu is made of yak leather, the front back and the sides are applied with silver plaques embossed with various patterns. The top is surmounted with a large suspension mount.
The flap is adorned with four turquoises mounted in high silver settings. The back of the flap is affixed with a small catch which holds the purse closed.
MEASUREMENTS: overall length of the front silver frame:12.5 cm (4.92 inches).
CONDITION: In good condition considering its age. Shows age and use with an old patina.
