Antique Capodimonte Majolica Italian Lamp with Greco Roman Depictions of Ladies, Babies and Warriors, Double Bulb Fixture
$159.99
Antique Capodimonte Majolica lamp Italian ceramic Greco Roman with scene of maidens , wariors, and babies. It has a double bulb brass fixture and has chain pull for each bulb. The ceramic sits upon an open work metal stand with vines and swirls. The measurements are 21.5 from the base to the top. The ceramic part is 12" tall and 8" wide. The weigt is 5 pounds.
The condition is very good. The top rim is darken which is an attestiment to the age. The metal base which is probably not solid brass has some " ashy" looking tarnish. The electic cord is sound and does not need replacing.
It looks as if it had been once an urn style vase that someone turned into an electical lamp. Whatever the history, it is an awesome piece. It comes without a shade and finial.
