Quantity available: 1

This is a nice clean North Brothers Yankee No. 30A spiral ratchet screwdriver in good condition. Marked "NORTH BROTHERS MFG. CO. PHILA PA. U.S.A. PAT.DEC.11.23" and several other earliers patents are listed as well. This is the medium sized one, (16" long overall without the bit in it, fully extended), offered with (3) different interchangeable original slot tips. All in very good working condition. There is no sign of use or wear on the handle, 99% like new. The exterior of the main shaft is nickel plated brass, very light wear, bright, shiny. Some Yankee screwdrivers are spring loaded in the spiral section, (rapid return, No. 130A) this one is not, as it is a No. 30A works fine, just as it was designed to function. You can use this screwdriver with or without spiral or ratchet, using the adjustment setting on the main shaft, and with or without ratchet drive also as there is a three position switch for ratcheting with an lock in the center. This is a nice clean 1930's model! The original box is solid with some wear on the green paper, and has a good end and top label, some stains, and some minor dust and dirt noted, the bottom is in good condition, some tape noted along the outside edges. A really nice looking, quality made tool from the 30's era! We also have hex drive adapters available for sale, to fit this screwdriver, (Ref. # T5630A) listed here on this site at additional cost. The adapter allows you to use modern hex drive bits and bit sets, like Philips drives, nut drivers, and star type bits for example.
