End Nippers Todd's Pat 10 Inch for Music Wire

$65.00
Quantity available: 1

These 10 inch long overall end nipper pliers are in very good working order with the rare for music wire removable cutters. The MUSIC WIRE stamped on the hardened cutters is not standard, in other words these are specailly tempered and hardened to meet the high standard of quality to cut music wire.  They are marked with a round logo with print, but its to small and light for me to read. Todd had the patent on this interchangeable cutters nipper type pliers in 1876, but it is not known what company made them, or for how long.  The adjustable stop keeps the cutters from hitting together when the wire is snipped, thereby prolonging the cutter life. These will open up to 3/8 inch between cutters! A great tool design, in great working condition! Has some darkening and some small pitted areas, but clean.  The removeable cutters are in very good condition but not perfect, very good cutting edge, and alignment, 95% like new. These cutters work very well on music wire, made for piano or instrument type wire. A very nice nipper, clean, no rust, with a good snug pivot joint, they work just fine. Hard to find in this nice shape, and also in this small size!
Very nice antique tool!
