Oil on canvas attributed to George Shalders, [English, 1826-1873]. Shalders is a highly listed artist with extensive exhibitions from 1848-1873. This outstanding large luminist work circa 1860 could be a location in England or on the Hudson River. The attribution to George Shalders comes from the name on the frame which appears to be original to the painting. The painting itself appears unsigned. This is a major outstanding luminist work of the period. Dimensions: 47" x 38" framed.
