Our very large and rare patinated bronze of frolicking children in a Bacchanale theme after the French sculptor, Joseph Cheret (1838-1894) dates from the 1890s and measures 37 inches across and 28 inches tall.  The artist studied with Albert Carrier Belleuse and was the younger broher to Jules Cheret, known for his poster designs in the Art Nouveau style.
