In his 20s Hunebelle became a decorator and master glass maker, exhibiting his wares at a store on the roundabout on the Champs Elysees in Paris. He employed blown-molded and press-molded glass techniques using molds crafted for him by Etienne Franckhauser, who also crafted molds for his contemporaries, Lalique and Sabino. His works were made at the crystal factory at Choisy-le-Roi from the 1920s through 1938. Following WWI, Hunebelle went on to direct dozens of films in France.
