Ando Jubei Meiji Japanese Cloisonne Vase

Unavailable

Our lovely cloisonne enamel vase by Ando Jubei (1876-1956) of Nagoya, Japan, measures 9 inches in diameter and 10 inches tall.  In good condition, with some rubbing wear, scuffs, and tiny nicks, consistent with age and good overall care.

Additional images forwarded upon request.

The Ando name is synonomous with Japanese cloisonne, having led the Nagoya enameling industry into its "golden age" in the late nineteenth century, along with artists, Hayashi Kodenji, Namikawa Yasuyuki, and Namikawa Sōsuke.
