Ancient Bronze Sword Dagger 1st Millennium B.C. Western Asiatic South Caspian Sea region or Azerbaijan
An ancient, early 1st millennium B.C Western Asiatic South Caspian Sea region or Azerbaijan bronze dagger finely cast in one piece. The hilt with flared “ear” pommel and square -sectioned grip, the open pommel with ridged back tapering double-edged blade with a median rib and guard extending in two horns down the upper edges.
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length: 30 cm (11.81 inches).
CONDITION: In good condition considering its age, showing its age and usage,this example is well worn and has been sharpened repeatedly over a long period of time small nicks, chips, and bends to form, but overall intact. The surface covered by a dark brown patina and green encrustation.
Provenance: From an old Canadian collection formed in the 1980s.
