Our bronze by Alois Hernick (1870-1939) depicting Napoleon on horseback at Jena in 1806 measures 17 3/4 in tall, 17 in wide and 6 1/4 in deep. With dark brown patina and in good condition.
There are scratches and rubbing wear, and a restoration to the tail.

The battles at Jena and Auerstedt were fought on October 14, 1806 on the plateau west of the Saale river between the forces of Napoleon and Frederick William III of Prussia. The decisive defeat suffered by the Prussian Army subjugated the Kingdom of Prussia to the French Empire until the Sixth Coalition was formed in 1812.
