Our very large (33 1/2 inch tall) and elegant gilt-decorated glass vase on stand dates from the third quarter of the 19th century. Attributed by a leading international auction house to Wilhelm Hoffman (1808-1866) of the Harrach glassworks in Prague.

Founded in 1712, the Harrach Glassworks were revered for the quality and brilliance of their clear and colored glass. Following their exhibitions at the 1851 Crystal Palace Exhibition in London, their international fame rose considerably. `
