This is a super nice clean, 10 inch swing ratchet brace marked " Mohawk Shelburne MADE IN U.S.A. on the crank handle shaft. This particular model was made by Millers Falls/Mohawk-Shelburne at the Shelburne Mass. plant from the 1930's to 1948. It has features like the steel clad ball bearing head, very nice hardwood handles, and spring loaded alligator jaws. It measures about 13.25" long overall. This one has a nice rosewood stain finish on the handles, no rust but some minor pitting. The wear is very minor on the handles. The head handle has a good working ball bearing drive, and the ratchet system is in very good working order. A very well made, nice looking tool, by a well known maker! This design is about 1.7  shorter than most 10" sweep braces, it is a little lighter duty, but when you need a shorter brace, very handy. We have many braces to choose from at this website! Many early, rare and hard to find models also!
