Mission Style Decoupaged Thread Caddy

Vintage / antique "Sew-Tidy" sewing thread caddy, in hinged Mission style oak frame with decoupaged panels. This interesting piece was made for the portable storage of thread and other sewing notions; it also makes a great decorative piece. Measuring 31 inches high including the handles, each panel is about 15 inches wide; when closed, the caddy is about 4.5 inches deep. The panels, which are made of heavy cardboard, are decoupaged with dozens, perhaps hundreds, of Victorian cards which have been varnished or lacquered. There are remnants of fabric on the inside which may be what the panels were originally covered with. There is a label on the inside with a spool of thread logo which reads "PATENT PENDING, SEW-TIDY, EDMILTON CORP., MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN." This piece is in good condition, sturdy, with light surface wear. The interior shows some moisture marks but no damage. The exterior panels are aged but intact.
