Millers Falls Early No. 303 Hand Crank Hand Drill

Unavailable

This is a nice clean quality made egg beater type single speed hand drill marked "MILLERS FALLS CO. MILLERS FALLS MASS PAT'D SEPT 29th 1896" on the chuck. and "MILLERS FALLS NO. 303 MADE IN U.S.A." on the crank handle as in the photos. Believed to be manufactured between 1921-1925. Considered to be rare in this nice of condition! This one is 11.2" long overall, and has a 0-3/16" diameter chuck capacity. The handles are dark hardwood, and still in very nice condition, solid, minor scratches, snug fitting, a minor grain separation near the end handle ferrule noted (as in photo). Overall the red paint is about 35% intact overall. The gears and all the spindles are in great shape, all gears are good, smooth movement when cranking. The screw chuck (loosens and tightens by turning the whole chuck on thread spindle shaft) on this old style drill is 3 jaw type, (spring-less) not spring loaded, so you use gravity to open the jaws when loading a new drill in the the chuck, works fine. A good solid tool, ready to use or display!
