Meeks Rosewood Laminated Center Table

Unavailable
Rococo rosewood Victorian center table attributed to J. & J. Meeks with the original oval white marble top (some normal minor wear to top). The identical table is shown on page 130 of “American Furniture of the 19th Century” by Eileen and Richard Dubrow. It has a undulating open laminated carved skirt that features a cluster of petal flowers with foliage on all four sides. There is a similar floral carving at the top of each of the graceful legs. Four open carved stretchers support a gorgeous central carved finial. The smaller bottom portion of the finial was missing when we purchased the table. We had it professionally recreated – one can really not ever tell that it has been replaced. It sits on the original brass castors. The center table is the focal point of the Victorian living room. This table is one of the best and made by one of the premier NYC Victorian firms of the period. It is in the remarkable original condition that the sophisticated collectors covet! Circa: 1850 Dimensions: 31″H x 46″W x 29″D Finish: Excellent original finish with deep rich patina. The vibrant stunning grain of the rosewood is on full display.
