1877 First (and only?) Edition of Mabel Howard written by Dame Durden and published by D. Lothrop & Co.

Red cloth boards with gold and black illustrations.  Discoloration to the red cloth boards.  Spine is in nice, tight condition, and all pages are tight and smooth.  Page edges are in great condition.  Minor thread wear to top and bottom of spine.  Paper card pasted to inside cover indicating it was presented to Maggie Kinard by Ebenezer Luthean Sunday School in Columbia, SC, Christmas 1886.  Some soiling on the inside first page.  212 pages, front illustration page, title page, Copyright page, and 12 pages at the back advertising other publications.  No pages missing.  Onion skin paper covering title page is totally intact.  No dog eared pages.   This book is in great condition considering its age!
