Lufkin Rival Round Steel Tape Measure 25 FT

This is a very nice, antique heavy duty round body with 25 feet steel tape the brass/steel round body.  The exterior steel is marked "THE LUFKIN RULE COMPANY SAGINAW MICH.  25 FT  THE RIVAL" on one side only.  To my knowledge, this type pre-dates the leather cover round body, we just don't see many of these anymore.  The one side of the steel has some pitting so it makes the markings a bit hard to see, but they can be seen with a close look.  The brass flip out to crank hand crack works just fine and the tape can be quickly taken back into the body using the brass crank that flips down (to a semi-concealed position) for pocket storage when desired.  The steel tape was repaired over the years and has a 10" section plain, (no markings on 10" section) pinned (well fastened) to the hook end of the tape, so a little over 24" of good inch graduation tape is still intact and is quite clean and readable.  This is the first "THE RIVAL" we have ever listed for sale, in fact the only one we have ever seen in working order.
