On the front of the plate at the top it reads the 11th of September 1777, During The Battle of Brandywine and on the bottom The Marquis De Lafayette Wounded in the Leg Encourages and Flings His Men Into The Attack. This is plate number four in the Lafayette Legacy Collection. It is done in blue and tans. The border design by Restieu was taken from the carvings of the solid gold hilt of the Sword of Honor commisioned by the Congress of the United States and presented to General Lafayette in 1779. On the back it states it is Porcelaine by Limoges of France. It has the plate number. States it is a Premiere Edition. In French on back of plate it gives details of his courage in first time under fire. It translates this is English in the brochure that is enclosed, It has a certificate of Origin and is in original packaging. Mint condition, measures 8 1/2"
