Large footed maple Munising dough bowl, featuring a carved "thumb print" design around the outer edge with remnants of red paint, circa 1940's or earlier. The bowl was made of premium hardwood "for chopping or mixing" by Munising Wood Products in Michigan's Upper Peninsula which went out of business in the fifties. This collectible bowl has a beautiful wood grain pattern and patina, and measures approximately 4 inches high, 13 5/8 inches wide, and 13 inches deep. This bowl lives up to its advertising as "the finest kitchen woodenware"; "Munising bowls last a lifetime." This bowl has no chips or cracks, and seems as solid today as the day it was made. There are some darkened areas or discoloration in the center of the bowl. Please refer to the 4 photographs for appearance and condition. Shipping / handling will be $10.50.
