Affixed to the original mat. Signed and titled recto. Wet stamped verso: "Jose Alemany/5307 Beller St./ Pittsburgh, PA." Written in pencil, verso: "Exhibited at Faculty Club, Cathedral of Learning, Pittsburgh, April- May 1938"; also: "$21-". Alemany was a Pittsburgh salon photographer with connections to the Spanish leftists in the 1930s. His salon images were often surrealistic and experimental, many made during his summers spent in Provincetown, MA.
THIS PRINT WAS EXHIBITED IN THE JOSe ALEMANY RETROSPECTIVE AT THE FUNDACION 'LA CAIXA', MADRID, 2004. THE IMAGE APPEARS IN THE EXHIBITION CATALOGUE, AND IS ACCOMPANIED BY THE MUSEUM'S EXHIBITION LABEL.
