James Swan Auger Bit Adjustable Handle and Auger Bits

Offering this top quality adjustable T-handle hand drill auger combination in very good condition. The adjustable handle part is marked by the maker; "The JAMES SWAN Co.".  The handle is about 15" long overall with threaded bolts passing through the center of the wood fastening to threaded holes in the center section, making the handle very sturdy.  The center section is all steel with a threaded holder that is controlled by the wing nut to hold the two auger bit that are included in this offering.  Other than one wood-grain seperation, that doesn't effect the sturdiness of the handle, the handle is in very good condition.  The auger bits are both in very good shape, both are sharp and ready to use.  The 1 inch diameter auger is 16" long and is marked "BATES 4" on the shank.  It also has a threaded nut on the end.  The larger 1.5" diameter auger bit is 27" long overall marked "MATROUS AST-STEEL".  Both are of the same double cutting edge/spiral patern.  Both with good lead screws, both have more of a straight square end to clamp the handle onto, which seems well suited for the handle design as the handle snugs up very tightly.  Overall a top quality very hard to find set, with extra long spirals on the auger bits!
