This framed etching by James Abbott McNeill Whistler (1834-1903) depicts an elderly woman seated and working in a cramped kitchen, and is known as La Vieille aux Loques from "Twelve Etchings from Nature" from 1858. It is recorded in the Kennedy book as plate 21. Frame measures 13 by 17 by 0.6 inches and the plate measures 5.75 by 8.25 inches.
