$650.00
Quantity available: 1
Titled and signed "J. W. Collinge / SB" recto on the mount. Printed on a textured, portrait style paper. J. Walter Collinge was a Santa Barbara, California based photographer active in the 1920s and 1930s. He exhibited in many exhibitions and salons from 1908 into the 1930s. His works are in the collections of the Huntington Library, Art Galleries & Botanical Gardens, the George Eastman House and other institutions. Santa Barbara Magazine writes: 'In the style of the early 20th century pictorialists, James Walter Collinge sought to do with the camera what others were doing with paint or marble: to create timeless statements, and turn everything into the archetypal.' -- characteristics certainly evident in this photograph.
