Meissen Potpourri Vases with Lids

Our pair of Meissen lidded potpourri vases, model 2711 designed by Johann Joachim Kaendler, date from the mid to late nineteenth century.  They feature pierced lids, applied flowers and the hand-painted scenes of courting lovers, painted floral bouquets, and applied putti at the base.  Each 12.75 by 8.5 by 4.5 in.

Each in good condition, with chip losses to the flowers and leaves, losses at the edges of the bases, losses to the fingers of the putti.  One vase has a small firing crack visible at the rim.
