I.P. HYDE Wood Handled Knife

$25.00
Quantity available: 1

This is a nice vintage 4.5" stationary  blade knife marked "I.P.HYDE" on the blade and handle, plus "SOUTHBRIDGE MASS. U.S.A." on the blade also.  The hardwood handle is really in very nice shape, well attached, no chips or cracks, nice finish.  The blade steel has some very minor staining, but otherwise appears to be unused, very nice. The overall length is 4.5 of the handle area, 9.5 long overall.  Although we know that Canton Cutlery Co. made many other tools, including razors, scissors and hair clippers, we don't find and information about them being in business after 1930.  A nice example of a rarely seen Ohio made knife.  Isaac Perkins Hyde & Co. were in business from 1875 to 1985.  We believe this knife to be from the mid 1900's vintage.
