HUMBLOT Signed Oil Children's Painting

This beautiful oil painting on canvas depicts two young boys holding hands as they pass through a field of tall grass. Signed " Humblot " by the artist. Canvas measures 25" by 31". The artist has used a couple techniques here to create a piece that is at once delicate and precise, while bold and abstract at the same time. In the depiction of the children and leaves on the tree, the artist has used precise and simple brush strokes, while in depicting the background sky and ground, the artist has used bold and rough strokes of a palette knife. This work was purchased in Europe and we believe the artist was likely French.
