H.R. de Vains Equestrian Bronze Sculpture

Our wonderful bronze depicting a fallen horse and rider in steeplechase race was cast from an original model by H. R. de Vains (French 1848-1886). Signed at the base and inscribed with an obscured/worn mark of the foundry.  10.25 by 26 by 11.5 inches.  There are some stains to the bronze pedestal, oxidation, scratches and slight bends at the base.  With its original, dark brown patina.  Provenance:  Sotheby's, New York, 2006.
