"The First Holiday" is the Premiere Issue of Four in the "Edna Hibel Holiday" fine art procelain collector plate series. This plate comes from the Hibel Studio and bears the mark of the Hibel Studio (since 1960). This is plate no. 8870 in the Limited Edition; firing of this issue was closed forever on December 31, 1991. The plate comes in its original box with its original papers. The colors are stunning, and the plate is rimmed with gold and highlighted throughout with strokes of gold. The scene depicts Mary, Joseph, and the Baby Jesus. Fainly in the background you will see the Star of the East, a wiseman, and a stable. T is a quote by the artist on the back, "Compassion and Love thrive in the Holiday spirit: the magic and miracle of life." Remember, this plate is produced by Hibel Studios and is copyrighted by the Edna Hibel Corporation.
