Hand-thrown stoneware jug with a rich dark brown Albany glaze. Mid-1800's. Three-finger indent at base of handle could help identify maker. Glazed bottom. Numerous glaze skips add to the texture of the piece. Measures 9.75"h x 7.5"d. Has several chips to the rim of the opening, some which were done at the time the piece was made, as they are glazed over. Most likely American use ware. No cracks. Sold as is.
