Hand Auger Drill 1.5 inch Hardwood T-Handle

Unavailable

This is a good clean auger bit w/hardwood T-handle. It is 16" long overall, and 1.5" diameter.  The auger bit is not marked by the maker but is in the James Swan design with double cutting edges, double spurs. The auger is double cutting edge, double spur with very smooth polished spiral surfaces. The center lead screw is in very good condition.  We note some minor pitting on the spiral, but overall in good shape. The auger bit has a threaded end nut that holds the bit securely in place when attached to the handle. In this case a square nut is used along with a washer for the proper pressure to hold the handle firmly in place. The auger bit has a .426" diameter main shaft.  The handle is also in good solid condition, no damage, no cracks, some light wear and minor dings, very strong and solid. The handle is 14.5" long and is fairly easy to remove from the auger bit, for easier storage.
