Our monumental gilt bronze figural candelabra, each approximately 55 inches tall, representing the Greek personifications of fear, Phobos and Deimos, were sculpted by the French artist, Charles Hippolyte Ferrat (1832-1882).

The base of the accompanying female is signed Φόβος  in ancient Greek for Phobos. 

In Greek mythology, these twin sones of Ares and Aphrodite, personified fear and panic brought on from war, but do not appear as characters in any myths.
