GLOBE WERNICKE VINTAGE WOODEN RECIPE BOX NO. 83 C.

Old Oak recipe box that  was made by the Globe Wernicke Co. The box has wonderful dovetailing and still has the original paper sticker inside. Notice the sticker on the outside also.    It is for  2 X 5 cards.

Formed in 1904 Otto Wernicke owner of Wernicke furniture co. in Grand Rapids Mi. accquired the Globe co of Cincinnati. The company was the primary makers of the stacking Barrister Bookcases that are so popular today.
The recipe box does have some  wear to the finish that is not too bad but you can bee's wax/polish them out with some good antique furniture polish.
