Our watercolor by the master Italian painter, Giulio Rosati (1858-1917) depicts two Arab men in conversation, one standing with rifle, and a Bedouin on horseback wielding a pistol, with a boy on a donkey nearby.  Signed "Giulio Rosati."  Mounted in window matte in modern glazed frame with gold finish.  Exposed portion of the painting measures 16.75 x 13.25 inches.  Frame measures 25.75 x 22 in.

According to the Benezit, the artist was born in Florence and studied under F. Podesti, Dario Querci and L. Alvarez Catala.  He is known for his figurative compositions, including genre, religious, local and Orientalist themed works.  His works have regularly appeared at major auction in the U.S. and Europe.
