Fukagawa Beneath the Plum Branch Plate No. 1 in Warabe No Haiku Series. This plate is titled Beneath the Plum Branch and is the first in the Warabe No Haiku series from Fukagawa Porcelain of Arita, Japan. Handcrafted in the year 1977. Beneath the plum branch small soldiers march to glory till their mothers call. Like their forefathers these small soldiers wear the woven top knots which pull their hair tightly into balls atop the head. There is an enclosed folder that tells the most interesting story of children at play. This is a lovely plate done in pale blue, yellow and red on white. Trees are in gold. It is signed on the front in Japanese. It has Japanese on the back and is translated , First in the Warabe No Haiku series. Painted by Suetomi in the year Showa 52 - 1977. Hand made limited edition Purveyor to the Imperial Household, Fukagawa Hezen, Arita, Japan. A wonderful plate. Included original packaging, information folder, wooden plate holder and certificate of Provenance. In mint condition. Measures 10 3/8".
