This nineteenth century Orientalist bronze, entitled Al Bayaa Al Turki (Turkish Arms Merchant, or Le Marchand d' Armes Turc in French), measures 34 by 16.5 by 14 inches,  and depicts a gentleman cleaning a rifle.  The work is signed G Gueyton and Al Bayaa Al Turki.  Condition is good.  It has a warm brown patina, scratches and nicks here and there. The top part of the rifle was cast separately and is a little loose.

Another casting from the series was offered by Christie's in New York, in their 19th Century European Art and Orientalist Art, Sale 1895, where Lot 91 was offered with a $8,000-$12,000 estimate and realized a hammer price of $10,000.
