Franciscan "Desert Rose" bread & butter plate pair, made by Gladding McBean of California.  Early mark dates from February 1939 to August 1940.   Measures 6 3/8"d, slightly larger than later editions.  Beautiful pattern hand-painted under-glaze, pale colors compared to later versions.  No chips or cracks; very little wear.  Sold as a pair, 3 pairs available.  See our other listings for pieces of this pattern.  Happy to combine shipping! Just contact me before ordering.
