This Set of Four Bentwood Chairs, circa 1954, hails from Shelby Williams Manufacturing Incorporated in Chicago, Illinois; and incorporates the bentwood design made famous by German-born cabinet maker, Michael Thonet. By using a unique steam-bending technology Thonet formed this unique design, and with its affordable price and simple design, the bentwood chair became of of the best-selling chairs ever made.
