Fancy SIGNED ARTS and Crafts SASH BUCKLE

The Arts and Crafts movement was a British and American aesthetic movement occurring in the last years of the 19th century and the early years of the 20th century. Inspired by the writings of John Ruskin and a romantic idealisation of the craftsman taking pride in his personal handiwork, it was at its height between approximately 1880 and 1910. This is one of the heaviest, most solid pieces I had seen in a while from that period and I realized that it was actually hand crafted and signed by a craftsman ( see marks on the back). It measures 2 1/2” x 2” and has a working center piece. This is in great shape with the marks of RLM in cartouches. It would date from the 180's - 1900's .The gilt is in good shape, with a rich golden luster.Since this is an Irreplaceable work of art there can be no returns on this sale.
