Titled: Bush Banana (Uparli) Dreaming

This painting tells the sacred story of two Aboriginal Women in the Dreamtime with the kin names of Nakamara and Naparula , who searched the Desert for the Sacred Bush Banana Fruit at Pilkilly near Vaughn Springs, Weat of Papunya Central Australia. The design shows the seed of the plant in the center of the painting. This grows into a vine with star shaped blossoms.

Artist: Eunice Napangardi

Eunice Napangardi was among the pioneering women painters associated with Papunya and later Alice Springs. Married to Kaapa Tjampitjinpa—one of the founding figures of the Papunya Tula movement.
