Elgin American Gold on Silver Carryall Compact Dance Purse Necessaire Minaudière
Stylish vintage 1940's-1950's silvertone carryall compact dance purse necessaire minaudière with gold scrollwork on the front and an area that can be engraved with initials. The interior has a gazelle pattern on the two compartment doors for a powder case and pill box (or a miniature perfume/scent bottle). The powder case has a sifter and a puff marked Elgin American. It also has a mirror which serves as a lid to the back side cigarette compartment. The lipstick compartment has a lipstick engraved Beauty Counselor which is not original to the case, and it holds a half stick of red lipstick. There is also a small tissue holder area. Included is a small folded turquoise booklet explaining the case - "Exquisite Haven for all of your Vanity Valuables", "All in One, All for you," sheer convenience! The exciting Carryall conceals your personal essentials for beauty's sake - all in one chic chest. First in style... first in design - the Carryall is fashion-perfect for all your gala events." This case has never been used. There is some light scratching on the exterior, and a small dent near the back hinge, and a little bit of deterioration on the mirror.
