French Jeweled Gilt Bronze Crucifix by Edmond Lesage (1859-1928)

Our gilt bronze crucifix from Edmond Lesage of Paris, circa 1900, measures 33 by 17 by 10.5 inches, and features a base with large cabochon jewels, cross with champleve enamel decorations, and gilt bronze figures of Jesus.  Signed "Edmond Lesage Orfevre a Paris". Good condition, with wear and sratches, consistent with age.  There is one missing cabochon on the rear of the base.

Henri Edmond Lessage (1859-1928) was a master goldsmith, known especially for his designs that decorate Basilique du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) of Montmartre, Paris.
